THE LISA AND ERNEST AUERBACH STUDENT UNION

The Lisa and Ernest Auerbach Student Union is the site of a state-of-the-art student lounge, café, and gallery space where students can relax, listen to music or watch T.V. or movies on a big screen. The Student Union also houses a top-notch fitness center equipped with the latest exercise equipment. Two locker rooms complete the Student Union.

THE IRMA AND LOUIS COLEN HALL

The Irma and Louis Colen Hall provides students with new classrooms, meeting spaces, and a multipurpose area for learning and student activities, including poetry jams, theater performances and concerts. This space also facilitates conventions and seminars during vacation periods.

THE LILLIAN AND HARRY BLACKMAN RECREATION CENTER

Complementing these buildings is the Lillian and Harry Blackman Recreation Center offering elegant gardens and breathtaking views, a sports court and soccer field and a challenging walking circuit.

GINDI AUDITORIUM

The Moses E. Gindi Auditorium is one of the finest facilities of its kind in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Its acoustics have been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “remarkable for clarity of definition, warmth of timbre and natural resonance.” The Gindi Auditorium is home to the Dortort Program for the Arts and annual performances in drama, music and dance.

MARJORIE AND HERMAN PLATT AND LENA AND JACOB BORSTEIN ART GALLERIES

The Platt and Borstein Galleries present exhibitions and educational programs in the Visual Arts. Selected Jewish and non-Jewish artists bring insight into current trends as well as historical perspective to our community life. The galleries provide a valuable and necessary aesthetic component to the educational goals of American Jewish University.

SONDRA AND MARVIN SMALLEY SCULPTURE GARDEN

With its terraces, meandering walkways and lovely view of the Santa Monica Mountains, the Smalley Family Sculpture Garden’s growing collection provides an environment for students and visitors to reflect, study and discuss as they enjoy the collaboration of nature and art. The garden epitomizes the University’s commitment to education as well as being a stimulus for an appreciation of the arts.
